Sun Pacific is one of the most successful grower and producers in California. Thanks to the “Cuties” brand of mandarin oranges found in markets across the world.  With the rise of their product popularity, their energy costs also rose quite drastically.  They chose Spectrum Energy to design and install a 1.13 MW DC solar plant on some available acreage outside their plant near Bakersfield.

Spectrum engineered and installed a single-axis tracking system to hold the solar panels.  This system tilts throughout the day at the optimal angle to the sun, thus increasing output by about 25%.  All of this is done automatically, of course, and Sun Pacific can simply carry on producing their great products while saving over $11,000,000 in utility costs over the life of the system.
