Due to a substantial increase in solar installations throughout the central valley near Fresno. PG&E is hesitant in the development plans for a new high voltage line. The new line was planned many years ago based on projected growth in the area and the need for more reliable power.  What those projections lacks was how quickly solar energy would become financially competitive.

According to the Fresno Bee, there are currently 59.65 MW of solar installations throughout the area. This is to supply enough energy to power around 20,000 homes.  Furthermore, that number is estimated to climb to over 261 MW in just the next 5 years.  Certainly, Spectrum Energy is proud to be part of this growth having installed over 2 MW of solar in the area.
